My builder uses Houzz Pro to plan the timeline and give detailed estimates and daily updates with photos of progress, and provide invoices at pre-agreed key points in the build. This made the whole experience much more efficient and stress-free.
If the cabin is rustic then I think the tin tiles that mermaide showed would look great. If the space is more modern then you could go with a glass tile or a mosaic. It doesn't look like a lot is going on with your countertop so you could add a "POP" with a mosaic backsplash.
