That's "toque" pronounced "took" please! tanian, aim for some local word-of-mouth and ask for a few references of people who will let you see the work done by the contractor before you agree to anything. I suggest that you ask for a ball-park estimate, the hourly rate and clarify that you expect transparency in billing, that is, supplies, time and taxes all identified separately. If you find a trustworthy person, you might go by hourly rate and pop over at the start, break times and end of day so you know what you are paying for. If you prefer a fixed price quote, expect a slightly higher cost to cover any unexpected contingencies. From your description, these are not big items and, if lucky, you'll find a good freelancer to use on future projects.

The roof was replaced two years ago so I think that any damage that exists on the soffits occured prior to that. I'll be seeking out a good carpenter!
