I like the window casing/trim colors and floors throughout. What type of wood floor is this? In some photos it looks like fir, and in others, a hardwood. We are in the midst of refinishing the fir and oak in our home and I'd love to get this rich but not oppressive color. This home is genius.

We are thinking of doing the exact same thing to our house. Can I ask what color stain you used?

I couldn't tell you exactly, but I think the color was probably a coffee brown, something with a little green in it.

Thank you. I also want to thank you for posting these pictures of the Decatur Island house. They were inspiration pictures for our home in Mill Valley, CA and we now have white horizontal paneling with our fir windows and floors.

One last question :-), what color paint is on the walls on the Deactur Island house? Thanks again!

Can I ask more more question. Did you use a water-based poly-urethane?

The paint is Bosworth White - the formula is available through The Color Store in Seattle. We don't have record of the floor finish. We have recently switched to using non-VOC oils such as Monocoat.

:) What sheen is on the paint on the paneling and ceiling? Is it the same? Thank you so much.
