The door is 30 inches wide; the door opening is 2 inches narrower.

Did you purchase door and sliding hardware separately? Is the sliding mechanism 6 ft on the wall because it doesn't look like the wall is that wide?

Many places offer the door and hardware together. Our hardware can be used with any style of door so we currently do not have door offered on our website: http://www.postframeaccessories.com, but we do have a vendor that can custom make them for you if desired.

Typically, the track is twice as wide as the opening, so here, if the door is 30", the track would likely be close to 60" or 5 feet. Since the photo is on an angle, it may not appear to be as wide as it really is.
