This is brand new construction. Second floor as well as the staircase is going to be dark hardwood, more like black, (pictures attached). Main floor, open concept, 1,800 square feet is porcelain tile 24x24 with rectified edge.

Tile is a nice contrast to the stairs and dark hardwood upstairs.

Do you think entire floor of tile is too much. Should I go with dark hardwood on main floor as well or should I stick with tile?

The space on main floor is so open that I can't combine tile and hardwood on one floor.
I have attached pictures of tile and hardwood, as well as main floor.


I question whether having 1,800 square feet of tile in main floor (kitchen, dining room and living room) is the right choice. It's a modern home.
