Bath tiling trends?

As part of what seems to be a complete home remodel we are re-doing our master bath. Here is the floor plan:
New Home Remodel · More Info
- there isn't much else to show as it's down to the studs right now. It is a tub-in-shower setup with a window by the tub, curbed, with glass enclosure and vanity right up to the curb. Our vanity/counter and medicine cabinets above it will look like exactly like this (minus the right-side drawer bank and linen hutch). The rest of the color scheme is not chosen.

I am trying to figure out how to tile this bathroom. Obviously the entire wet area will be tiled to the ceiling. The question there is how to tile around the window - put some sort of moulding around it? We will also need some sort of a decorative backsplash between countertop and medicine cabinets (our counter will not have one). And the rest? Should I cap it off a little past the glass? Tile the whole thing half-height? Do the wall behind the vanity to the ceiling and leave the rest painted?

I am trying to balance a stylish-looking bathroom and thousands of dollars in tilework, so all ideas are appreciated!
