Furniture Update - Shabby Chic

I plan to paint this piece in a Shabby Chic Style. Need suggestions
on changing front panel on doors. Any suggestions, possibly with chicken wire? Fabric? etc? All Appreciated.

Handles? I like them, would painting be good option or
better suggestion? Thanks!

Leave the panels, kill the pulls...stick to rings for shabby look. Paint the base in milk paint light to medium color of your choice and the top in chalkboard grey paint. Keep a cup of colored chalk for drawing and notes. Enjoy and please show us finished photos. Hope this give you some ideas. Be creative and think outside the box. :)
