Thank you everyone! I did all the upholstery myself, with the exception of the cushion which I cut fabric for and sewed the welt and paid someone to sew it all together so I could have it in my shop before Christmas (time crunch). I do a bit of upholstery, but this was my first couch. It really wasn't much different than a chair...just a bit longer!

Now that is a happy sofa! I love it! Great job!

Wow! I'm impressed. I also have a store (collective) and I do simple upholstery myself but have yet to tackle a big project. I've never really learned to sew so that's what's holding me back but my mom has offered to loan me her machine and show me the basics so maybe I'll try this in the New year! I come across pieces at auction all the time that have great shape/bones but need new fabric but I've always been a tad intimidated. I love the idea of this instead of just buying something new that was probably manufactured in China that has poor quality inside. Well done all around!

I found the foam at Home Depot. It was a 3 inch thick piece of high density foam for $26. I cut it to size with an electric knife and glued and wrapped it in thick dacron from JoAnn's ($50/roll original price).

Home Depot carries foam for upholstery? That is a great price. I need some to have a window seat cushion made and choke at the cost. If you could let me know what department, I would be forever grateful. Your shop looks like such fun. Too bad Springfield isn't closer!
