Megcblu, this project is in Culver City. I am based in Westchester. The front house was a total remodel of the interior. The original house had 2 bedrooms, 1 bath and a small little room that might have been an office. The new layout has 3 bedrooms, 2 baths, larger kitchen, laundry room, open living room and dining room. For the exterior we changed all the windows, added a fireplace, new roof, new stucco and did some minor landscaping. The budget for the front house was about 450K because there was major foundation work that had to be done. If you like to know more contact me and I can discuss the project with more detail. Giovanni- I will definitely be in touch. We are on Westlawn Ave. not far from your "Naylor" project. We moved in to our house in September. Our home sounds very similar to the Naylor house and the above house in Culver. Most of the houses in Westchester and surrounds were built this way.

It was originally a 2 bedroom/1 bath with study or 3rd small bedroom. Sometime in the 1980's they added a second bath and additional room off one of the bedrooms. We use that bedroom /bath as our master and added room as a study but it is lacking a true master. We have two small kids and often I feel that our bedroom is their "pass through" to get the back yard as the only way to access the backyard is through the kitchen/laundry or that study which you have to get to via our bedroom. Also, we still have the original layout of the kitchen which is a galley shape. We did a quick updating before we moved in replacing all the old cabinets with ikea and putting in new appliances etc., tiles, counters but eventually we would like to enlarge it.

I would be interested in sitting down to do the architectural drawing phase of both a small addition (enlarging kitchen/creating a true master etc.) probably by squaring off the back of the house and also to see how a second floor addition could look. I am only in the very conceptual phase. We are probably not ready to do any major reno for a bit, but I would like to take our time and really think through the design phase. I really like living here and probably this will be our "forever" house if we can get the design down right.

Beautiful! I was drawn to your photo bc it is so similar to my house. The looked at the location and we are practically neighbors- I am in the Kentwood area of Westchester. We would love to do an exterior remodel to match our interior. Who was your contractor? Would you recommend them? How long did it take? Thank you!
