First, I'd turn the sectional so none of it is turned away from the FP or windows. Pull it back so the FP can be seen from it. Leave walkway to the steps and double doors open. Add a pair of swivel armchairs at the TV end of the rug. They can turn to see TV, will make it seem like a more intimate grouping, and will de-emphasize the distance the sofa is from the TV. Try a console table and credenza with art above them for the two walls by the steps to the DR and between the double doors and steps. You may be able to add a comfortable chair or chaise angled by the firewood niche. Cut the bottoms off some plastic milk or juice jugs and just start moving things, taking pix and re-posting.
