Kitchen suggestions

Hi there,

I recently renovated my kitchen but I still feel it needs something else. Would you suggest adding additional cupboards to the left wall and if so what style. I am open to other suggestions. I would like some sort of additional cabinet for glasses. Not sure if I should use open shelving or a smaller glass cabinet to match the ikea cabinets that are installed in this kitchen. Thanks for your help. I also, need a suggestion on backsplash.

Perhaps one accent color such as red or yellow to personalize the kitchen more.

Well done. Kitchen is perfect. I would not do shelves for glasses, a dust collector. Use a accent color on counters like bright yellow for a pop of color. Kitchen very small less is more. On wall with dark square art replace with a contemporary design Long 30" & narrow, and very bold colors. Bar stools are nice. But for a color pop try a leather high back in a color. Go on line to see. Again yellow is way to go.

A backsplash isn't needed. But if you want. go a bling look. With silver mosaic. Go all the way up behind stove. Can you plug in on another socket that doesn't show? Would look more finished. With wood floors a colorful area rug in living area would tie two together, stay in the grays with a pop of color.

More storage for glasses necessary. Is dust a big issue? Turn glasses rim down, and do a lot of turn over for the dishes so they have their turn in the dishwasher!

Or, wonder if there is an ultra slim cabinet (one glass only wide) for the bar area.

I think open shelving will work better than additional cabinets, and I agree with Daytecture about the red color

I like the idea of the open shelves posted by pcmom1. You might consider one semi-custom cabinet on the left with glass door and a shallow depth to be just above the counter but to coordinate with your existing cabinetry (or to compliment it). The inspiration pic is for the idea only, not the style

I love all your ideas, my walls have an undertone of purple which I love, I'm not a big fan of yellow, would you suggest any other accent colour. Travis interior your suggestion regarding the pictures would you have a picture of what your exampling I'm trying to visualize. Any pictures from Ikea you could suggest I was also thinking of a tall mirror leaning up against the wall next to the kitchen

I think I would hang a long skinny piece of artwork vertically on the gray wall area to the right of the barstools in that area......

What a great looking kitchen! Well done! If you decide you want to do a backsplash, consider Fasade decorative backsplash panels. They are available in different finishes, including those that resemble stainless steel, like your appliances. They're also available in a variety of styles from traditional, to modern or contemporary. The backsplash shown here is our Waves style in Brushed Aluminum. We also offer larger wall panels that come in 4'x8' sheets. You can easily add texture and visual interest to any space. In the photo here, we show our Current Style in Matte White, which can be painted. Finally we also offer our new Aspect Glass Peel & Stick tiles. They're available in 6 beautiful colors. The ones shown here are a mix of Sienna Bark and Wild Strawberry. You can see all the possibilities at www.backsplashideas.com. Have fun with the rest of your decorating adventure!

Love the idea of some color there. Shelves would be great.

Modern wall-mounted wine rack. Or stemware rack which would add a bit of bling.

groveraxle is right, I have one of these in my house from Ikea, they hold 4 bottles and I just stacked three of them on top of each other. http://www.ikea.com/us/en/catalog/products/30055760/

    Many good suggestions here.

There is a store on Etsy.com called, "KeoDecor" she makes the rack I've pictured below.

I'm sure she would work with you on painting it a different color if you'd like ...

Oh, for the backsplash ... I spied that you like purple ...a purple backpainted glass would look great! Wouldn't be that expensive as it's such a small area ...

I don't think you need a tile back splash, try with a glossy paint of your favorite color, on the left wall a nice clock with the same color of the back splash would custom your cute kitchen.

If you do any backsplash at all, which I'm not convinced you need, I would just do a st.st. tile or sheet. You have very little wall showing so the st.st. would tie it together. Here is what I would do: paint the recessed portion of the ceiling a bright color.
