OK, if you liked the wreath, it meant it was the right size and shape. Find something that will be the same as the wreath. IF you were to use a round mirror, what would it reflect? I would also resist the temptation to put pics on the mantle. These are tiny and fight with the stone......guessing they are tough to see and appreciate there, too. Find room for them on a side table so they are still in this room for you.

A wonderful piece of art work. Something that attracts the colors already in the room - a rug, pillows, candles, etc. Best best is to pick a piece of art you like and work the "extras" around the art.

I looked on HOUZZ and there are several fireplaces just like yours. None of them have huge artwork.....so I asked myself "why"? Here is an example.



I think (if ask for two story fireplace photos) the reason is that they all have a substantial mantle. I like the idea of large artwork, but if money is not an issue, your rock is so pretty I think it might be better to invest in a heavier mantle. Just a thought.
