I would arrange basically the way you have it, with the sofa floating in front of the FP. A long console on the opposite wall of the FP with an overall bigger mirror over it & ottomans under the console. Lamps on the console. Rocker next to console on right. Consider painting your bookcases white & installing a more interesting mantle, such as a chunk of reclaimed wood.

What would go under the big picture window? And where would I place end tables?

-End tables on either side of couch. You don't need anything under the window.
-windows open with panel on each side.
-need large, round coffee table or ottoman

Men don't like painting wood...LOL. Tell him the compromise is putting a chunk o' big ole wood on the mantle!!! :)

The antique rocker is being redone in a classic pattern with a bit of red and the creamish color that's in the other chairs

Since the chairs are cream, I would buy a leather couch in a color that matches the wood part of the chairs……is that black?

Sofa should face these two chairs.

On second thought after seeing all the pics, the sofa should back up to the kitchen. This would create some separation.

I want to agree with CDR about the round cocktail, & I would suggest tufted leather. Also agree with drapery suggestion of CDR...& extend the rod out a bit more on both sides. I think aleather sofa would be a bit much, but the leather ottoman might be just the right amount. Linen for the draperies. Really, the whole scheme should have been built from the floor up with an area rug, which should be an 8×11. So before you choose a sofa, choose your rug.
