I've used bedroom & tv armoires. I like keeping storage items out of sight. Right now, I have a bead board-style armoire made for a tv that holds a very large microwave. There's an inner shelf above the micro for paper plates/napkins. There are 2 doors below that open to a tall side for over-sized items, and a 2 shelves on the other side. Armoires come in every style - modern, traditional, etc., with many different stain colors. Honestly, mine is a medium honey-color made by Sauder and cost $200 about 10 years ago. It's stood the test of time thru children and grandchildren. It's used every day, many times a day. It still looks almost new. I'm sure a dark stain would show more scratches, but I can sure vouch for its sturdyness. Still solid, but a bit heavy to move - even on my tile floors! Only pic I have on hand is when we were in the middle of redecorating, but you will get the idea.

I like the idea of a colorful vintage piece. This is a fun one, but the picture only shows a small portion.

Emily, if you click on the picture, it will show more of the piece. Again, it was the only picture I had that was quickly available to share. Nevertheless, the point is that you can spend as much...or little...as you want, and armoires come in a wide variety of colors & styles. One can buy an antique, or a new product...you can refinish/paint to suit your personal taste.

Oh, I love the piece. I wish I had room for something like that!
