Just purchased this 1929 tudor house - I am about to tear down the wallpaper in the master bedroom and paint it.

I have always loved wallpaper, but my budget won't allow what I want - so I'm thinking of stenciling.

I have removed the two strips of molding on the ceiling as shown in the picture. I think I am going to add crown molding midway on the slant to hide a light rope and hopefully make the ceiling look higher.

Our bed is king sized and has a short dark headboard, I think we will position it about where the real estate staging company put the bed in the picture.

The look I'm going for is airy, elegant, but somewhat whimsical.

Ideas?
