need help with kitchen den area

I am doing kitchen over with a mystic gray cabinet finish. I am contemplating replacing the brick fireplace in den (it's open concept) with either fearing it with the same color kitchen cabinets, do white cabinetry or stone. Any thoughts. My home is traditional. Thanks!

Can you post a photo? I love brick fireplaces, if it looks good I would keep the brick but I understand the need for harmony since it is a open concept. Post a photo! Would love to see it. And what type of gray, can you post an example or reference a BM paint color?

It sounds all to matchy-matchy to me; let's change it up! Do an accent wash on the brick so you can still see the beauty of the brick. White cabinetry sounds like too much work in "maintenance" if this area is truly functioning as an active Den and Kitchen. Dare to live outside the box..! :)
