Yes, there is a steel edge that is our template. We care for this garden in-house and a weed whacker is used for the edges.

This picture would dictate that whoever is doing maintenance on this property is doing an exceptional job at edging the lawn and keeping plantings pruned/sheered properly. My guess is that there is also either metal edge or a mow strip that is aiding in keepin the edges tidy and straight

We get a clean edge of the beds with the help of steel edging that outlines the bed and serves as our template and a weed eater.
