Couch does not fit

HELP! I need suggestions for furniture to use in place of couch. We have a basement living room and the entry way is narrow plus the hallway is narrow. We can fit a loveseat by turning vertical but a couch is too long. What are some suggestions for furniture pieces to fill up this large (20x28) space without it looking like a hodge podge of random chairs? Thanks so much!

It is completely empty right now. On the far side from the entryway is a fireplace with built ins and on another wall is 2 windows. I will try to post more pics tonight.

-- Taking a shot at this w/o pix, but would a pair of loveseats fit with a pair of small occasional chairs added to an "L" orientation? Or placing the loveseats facing each other on opposite sides of a rug and setting the chair[s] at the end of the rug, between the loveseats?

Pictures of the space would really help.

Aren't there sectionals that come in pieces??? If so, maybe they would fit, piece by piece, in to the room.

You can find sectionals that do come in pieces, thank goodness. That's the only way we got furniture into our den! Also you might see if a couple of "chair and 1/2's" with ottomans might fit. They are much more comfortable than occasional chairs.
