Building retirement home with goal of minimal maintenance. But husband really wants some wood floors in great room and dining area. I need something that already looks somewhat used (vintage) or I will be obsessive about taking care not to scratch, marr, etc.. I do not want hand scraped or beveled but was thinking matte or low gloss finish, grainy mid tone oak, wide as 5 inch, engineered because those finishes seem more bullet proof. Feedback or suggestions and even suggested products?? Thank you.
