I think you need a set of chairs to counter the weight of the couch. I like the look of against inner wall, but as the room is shaped you'd then need to create a purpose for the nook. .. An office corner or quiet reading nook?
Try taking the couch off the wall and floating it? Then you could tuck the smaller pieces w some big art. The scale of the mirror is good, but as it reads clear, again doesn't balance space.

Try floating the couch from where the large mirror is then put 2 chairs in front of it

I have tried floating the sofa where the mirror is with chairs across from it however, the width of the room doesn't allow it. It is longer than wide unfortunately and with two large openings, robbing me for wall space. :(

When you say "nook", are you referring to the space behind the sofa, or the cabinet and chair area?

I can help but think the wall with the windows if focal. Therefore I always lean towards keeping the sofa opposite in some fashion.

Art inspiration escapes me in the room as well. Yikes, what a mess.

The room is 18"L x12.5 with 8' ceilings. Being that the wall with the cabinet is at the end of the room that you face when entering from the front entryway, I wonder if it's placed well.

I do have a pair of chairs that I had originally placed with the sofa. Just not certain they have the it factor for me. I am currently using them in the dining room which is another project for fellow Houzzers soon I hope. :)

The sofa is your biggest investment. Usually that shape is pulled away from the wall and “floats” as acuteally suggests/

Take everything out of the room and make the sectional fit, then put the lesser pieces back in.

Have you tried flipping the couch to where the wing chair and case piece now reside?

Your pano pix are distorting the space to the point that judging exact scale and size of both furniture and room are guesses. Please re-photo and re-post standard jpg pix.

I agree. Can not get myself in this room to make any recommendations.

Kayte Dendy- Glennon, Marie here. Sometimes it's just better to admit defeat and sell the sofa to a better home that can handle its size. If you don't have a large rec room to use it in, I'd say "I Give" and address the room at hand with the proper size furniture. Sometimes and elephant is just that - an elephant, and you can't put lipstick on it no matter how hard you try. Sorry - not always the best news, but right is right. Good Luck.

Wow, wow, wow, I love your couch!
It needs to be pulled back from the wall, I think. Just 10 cm or so.

Try moving the end nearest the dining area 2 1/2 to 3 feet away from the wall then slide it slightly toward the dining area. Then the other end try to slide it about 2 feet away from the wall. Then float the two chairs about 2 feet away from the coffee table on the opposite side of the coffee table.

Move the narrow sofa table to the wall with the big dresser. Use the table for a drink area and put shelves for glasses and beverages on wall.

Move the plant stand to the mirror location. Move the big dresser on the wall behind the two chairs or out of the room if it doesn't fit.

I have to say, I LOVE the round coffee table with it, just makes it feel planned..also love the chairs in dining rm, tho If wishes were horses, a print would be nice.( that's why god invented pillows,she's soo smart)

Last question of the day. Is the Window wall not a factor and focal point to focus on in this room? Possibly not with the sofa being what it is.

Here's a photo of tennisanyone's living room sofa which is similar in size/shape. I think, like her's, yours would look nice in front of the window.

Why is it not in place where the dark chest is? have you tried that, flipping those two places?.

Love the sofa! Try it in corner of window/chest wall but not pushed up against wall and angled so that end that is longest doesn't cut flow to dining room. Take all other pieces out of room as previously mentioned so that you r just dealing with sofa & coffee table. Once you get that right then you can start to bring other pieces in - and it will help you determine whether existing chairs work or you need something lower & curved like photo posted by decoenthusiaste
