type of wood used on exterior

please tell me the type of wood used on the exterior and could you call out the stain color?...If the wood used is IPE....sigh....too much $$$ for us :(...could you suggest a stain color that would create a similar look on the smooth side of cedar?

A great conversion of a bland exterior, very well done. What kind of materials have you used on this exterior and do you know if these materials or similiar are available in the uk? Excellent work and use of contrasting materials with a modern yet very natural apprearance!

A similar query. I really am not even sure the bottom - white - shingles (/) are wood - possible composite of some sort? Would've liked one closer picture. - this solution certainly works from a distance.

Ive been doing some research and i reckon the lower half is cement fibre boards, please correct me if im wrong!?
