Look at MTI. They have awesome tubs.

Thanks Amy yes the MTI look good but about 2X or more the price and maybe 2 inches less soaking depth. Since I am pretty tall I want as much soaking depth as I can get especially when I need to select a tub less than 6' in length. Still checking them out though.

Off to check out the Japanese soakers! Now about installation on those - this is for the 2nd floor master bath and so I cant recess it into the floor. Will that be an issue?

I paid around $1000 for my MTI Andrea soaker tub. It was two years ago, but the prices were decent on the soakers. It gets crazy when you add in jets, in-line heating etc.

Some pretty nice set ups though I am wondering about the cost once you get all the accoutrements added in. Worth a chat with the architect!

That's not bad Amy and the quality seems good. I was seeing 1500 but maybe I was looking at the wrong ones.

I got mine through a plumbing house. I couldn't ever find pricing online. They are pretty exclusive who they sell through. It's an American company. They have the Japanese style too.

You might also consider a freestanding soaker. They are more expensive up front, but the install is a lot cheaper, so the price evens out. The pricier your tile, the more you'll save.

A few Toto drop in tubs push 20". Also have found a few copper tubs that are deeper
