I think it depends on the amount of shower heads you're putting in . There really isn't a need to have tons of room in a shower where no water is hitting. Also, if the shower being 5x8 allows no space for a soaking tub, no storage space, and no counter space then it won't be good for a long term owner.

I think 4 x 6 is big enough even with a nice bench. I want to rip out my garden tub and build a shower in its place.

Be very considerate of putting any light colored and porous materials such as marble in your shower enclosure--it won't wear well. If you are installing a Kohler body jet system, I would suggest a glass enclosure with a 3' door if opting for a 4 X 6 size. Depending on your audience (potential buyers) don't put any steps into or out of the shower. Make it a zero edge curbless shower. Even if this house is not full of bells and whistles, these details really draw in buyers, and accessiblity is never a bad feature to build into homes.

thank you, that is a good idea, no steps. I have seen it done and I forgot about it.. I was going to stay away from steam for sure.. and our county is restrictive on gpm od the units..
