Also, check out the step that is to the left as well. Would you consider putting a small table there to rest the tv on? Would that clog up the path? HELP! Moving in next week.

I wouldn't put my TV in either place. I would get some extra cable that I would run along the baseboard and across the carpet against the stair ove to another part of the room. You can get large staple to help hold it down. Our cable comes in in a similar location, but we've never put it there--we run cable along the wall to where we want it.

I agree with Hayleydaniels; can you post some more photos of the rest of the room?

I always like a TV offset from the fireplace instead of above it. I would use a cabinet the same depth as that tile out front to put the TV at whatever height works best for viewing.

Add some artwork over the fireplace to make this the focal point (instead of the TV) or put the TV in a cabinet that can be closed to avoid distracting from the fireplace.

Little hard to tell from this one photo. Can you provide some more photos? From what I see here, I'm not sure if I would put a TV on this wall - it's smack in the middle of what I suspect is a major circulation path into your house. Can you place it to the left?

Thanks for the feedback everyone! I have not officially moved in yet. I will be going back to the apartment tomorrow and will take more pictures then. I have also thought about the cabinet idea next to the fireplace. However, I'm not sure if it will block the walking path (where the step is located)
