Multiple bathrooms with a single sink.

If there is only room for one vanity then definitely two sinks. I prefer two vanities, each with it's own single sink, but many bathrooms aren't big enough to accommodate that. No way would I wait in line to brush my teeth in my own bathroom, I only need privacy for one thing, and I have an enclosed area for that.

Single sink most of the time is fine - a double only if there is lots of room.
When my parents moved to their 'new' house (in 1966!), they could have had 2 sinks in hall bath. Mom wanted the extra counter space, for kids sitting on counter to wash feet, change a baby, etc. There was enough room on either side that if we wanted, 2 of us could brush teeth at the same time - just had to aim with a little care!

I don't have to share a bathroom with anyone, so single works for me. The triple sink is awful!

It depends on the room. I have a double vanity bathroom and I'm fine with it. I don't want to wait to brush or wash. I do like a large single sink with two faucets. As for the triple one, that is good for a vacation home for the kids room.

I love my double vanity in my master bath. My husband and I also have separate storage spaces in the vanity

The triple "vanity" reminds me of a bathroom I once saw in an abandoned mill... had a large, round communal urinal in the center of the room. Great for a crowd...

Hubs and I like having our own sinks. The pic of the triple reminds me of my old elementary school girls bathroom eww!

double. Have had a double since 1995 when we had the house built. It helps a lot when we are both rushing to go out someplace. One can dry their hair while the other wash their face or brush their teeth :)) Also like the extra storage in a double sink cabinet.

There are times when a double sink would be nice, so I voted for it, but it's not on my list of top three changes I'd make to my bathroom, if I had an unlimited budget and unlimited space.

I prefer a double sink. It's much easier when spouse has their own side.

Single. We used to have a double but changed it to single. I love the extra space as make up and hairdressingtable.

My hubby and I are building and are getting the double sink as well as double shower heads in the ensuite. We each use our own sink and there's no fighting over water temp if we shower together ;-) it also means the shower is a decent size!

Double. If you put three sinks it just looks like you're trying too hard and it is too much if it's a small bathroom.

One. One nice sized one, and no (bleeping) 'bowl that sits on top the vanity'. I always want to go pick it up and clear the top, and the cleaning of the gunk that gets in at that edge between the bowl and the countertop????? (you never seen my hubby meet a bathroom when he shaves) I put our master one off center, so there's some space for someone to primp, or get at the 'mirror corner' (you can actually pull a mirror or two out to where you can get at it and SEE, for removing things from eyes, etc... I hate mirrors two feet away and I can't focus on what I'm doing unless I crawl on the vanity! Also when you put the faucet in, make sure you have enough room to actually get your hands under the water, and don't have to push your knuckles into the back of the sink. I hate bathroom sinks with about 2" of clearance out, and I can put a palm under the flow but can't 'wring' my hands to wash them under the stream... this is where a lot of your ickspatter happens (again hubby needing to get clean and leaving me a 2' radius ring around ground zero, the faucet output)

As for the shower and clear doors, I've long lost my inhibitions; just the two of us and we've seen it all before. I did site the urinal so if he wants to go when I'm in the shower I don't have to 'see' him go. I agree Tracka24, on a decent sized shower. Sneak a couple of those grip rails and handbars in there that look like corner shelves and such, even a ring around the shower control; the older I get the more I appreciate a place to grab on if needed.

Okdokegal - I feel like we would get along so well. I hate all those things too! (Particularly the hand washing thing. What is the point if you can't get your hands properly under the water flow?)

I voted for a double because we only have one bathroom (with one sink) and sometimes we do end up waiting for each other. But I'd rather have two bathrooms, each with one sink, than one bathroom with two sinks. Since we're center-of-the-city folk, this is probably not too likely though!

I have a double, would prefer the singe....only because double is double the cleaning to me.

I have a double too, I use one for washing hands and face etc. which keeps clean all the time and one for when I clean bathroom or washing bathroom items down. So, double is handy!

Double works better, in my opinion. Except I'm not a huge fan of those bowl sinks, they tend to get too grimy too quickly

A double sink vanity is entirely accommodating. Though, it is also dependent on the vanity dimensions.

If you have the room, 2 completely separate vanities BUT, I personally find that it's not so much the 2 sinks that are needed, but more a dressing vanity area (hair, makeup, etc).

Just got one and hate it.. I don't know why, but when I put water in my hands to wash face, it runs down my arms to elbows and then floor....bowls are too high.

Single. Every double I've had everyone always uses the sink closest to the door. So they end up over time looking unevenly used. Why not just go with one to start, and then you get to double the $$ you spend on it !!!

We had a single vanity for my kids and change it to double one.

I like a double but probably because I never had one. Now if the question was would you rather have two bathrooms or one bathroom with two sinks, I think the two sinks might not do as well :)

One is a necessity, two can be convenient, three . . . the mind reels.

After years spent in real estate, I have seen many 48" vanities with double sinks. That might be ok in the kid's bath, but two's a crowd in an adult bathroom.

I'm one of those strange people who wants to use the bathroom by herself.

You'd have to have a very large bathroom, and yes, I know a lot of people on here do, but for those of us in small older homes, there just isn't room for two people in the bathroom at the same time unless it's with the grandson helping him potty. Otherwse, it's just too crowded.

I prefer two sinks, a double vanity (or two separate ones) and two medicine cabinets in a master bathroom, that way we each have our own space. In a family/guest bath one sink.

I have been searching for 60 inch vanity double bowl.. I have learned I would much rather have 2 separate 36 inch vanities. When you price a 60 inch vanity and separate top the costs are over the top.. My most recent quote for Omega in Peoria Il was 6895.00 KBL cabinets obviously did not want my business. Who purchases a 60 inch vanity for that price. shameful..

Seriously Mark, in all honesty, it all depends on what your partner keeps in the sink and if you can live with it.

I love the idea of a double vanity. I don't know why, but I always feel more hygienic if I know I am the only one using a certain sink. This vanity is a dream... long live Carrara marble!

Double, but more counter space all around. We have a upper cabinet that sits on the countertop & several drawers below that, in between the two sinks, with lots of counter space all around! We also considered a makeup area in between the two sinks, with a chair or stool to sit at. We didn't do that because we put a makeup area in our master closet instead. Works for us!
