Thanks and good question - what are advantages of gas oven? i've never had one

Lacanche is certainly a great option, and one of the last brands in its price point to be 100% hand-made to order! Gas vs electric oven is an endless debate :) The general consensus is that gas is better for roasting (more moist) while electric is better for baking. Having said that, it mainly comes down to personal preference as many people use only one or the other for both roasting and baking with success! Another thing to consider with Lacanche: starting with our 40" models, you can get both a gas and an electric oven in one range!

We had a Jen Air twice with dual fuel, first was awesome but renters destroyed it when we were gone a few years. Second was not the same animal, and I heard afterwards that company had been bought by Maytag.
Now I am asking the same type of question in the Bertazzoni, Wolf, and other brands comparable. dual fuel was nice and self cleaning is wonderful but finish must wear well also.
