Engineered wood floors with 3mm+ wear layer?

We've fallen in love with acacia floors -- we really like the grain, which hits a nice balance of interest without being too crazy like some of the other exotics.

But we can't seem to find a manufacturer who makes an engineered acacia with a wear layer thicker than 2mm. What we've seen so far is either 2mm or solid. We don't want to go with solid because of the way they have to putty in the voids in solid acacia wood.

Anyone know of anyone who makes engineered wood with thicker than usual wear layers? Or should we be happy with 2mm?

Yikes! Even 3mm is less than 1/8"! What about sand and finish solid wood? My costs for engineered flooring are higher than solid wood right now (North SF Bay Area). They'd at least last 50-60 years.

We're in California, FWIW. We did find one that was exclusive to Hawaii but that would be prohibitive to ship.

Bella Wood Acacia 1/2" x 4 3/4" comes with 5 ply and 3mm wear layer and a transferable 100 year warranty.

were you able to find 3mm? We are in California and going through the same thing right now! minimum 3mm wear layer selection. All colors that i like are 2mm only.

Always funny when one of my ancient posts gets bumped. FWIW, we ended up veering away from acacia and picked Provenza floors in Toasted Sesame. I don't remember what the wear layer is but we love the look of the floors.
