That looks like absolute black granite to me. The tile backsplash looks like multi-color glass 1x2 mosaic. I'd check out MaestroMosaics.com

I have this backsplash and I am looking to add granite countertops now. Really like the absolute black but was also thinking blue pearl as I really like that as well. Would it still look as good with blue pearl granite over the black....would it be too "matchy" with the blue pearl?

The volga blue pearl or blue pearl granite has a similar look to the absolute black, but with more flecking. It would depend on how the two blues (granite and backsplash) looked while next to one another. Try to get a sample of the backsplash and take it with you to the slab yard to view.
