Love the railing.

I love the horizontal railing; especially how it continues the language of the siding. Is there any child safety/code issue with horizontal railings?

Hi Barry. There may be such a code in Europe. I think some of my European clients have asked me about this. In the U.S. under the Uniform Building Code (the code this project was built under) or the newer International Building Code, there is no prohibition against horizontal railings. However, the minimum spacing has evolved over the years from 9 inches to 6 inches to the current requirement of a maximum 4 inch spacing. - Mark
