My builder uses Houzz Pro to plan the timeline and give detailed estimates and daily updates with photos of progress, and provide invoices at pre-agreed key points in the build. This made the whole experience much more efficient and stress-free.

Who is the maker of the bifold windows and what is the size of the opening? Thanks

    Hi Jill,
    I am going to help Susan answer that question. Quite often we can get a sign off from a Building Envelope engineer who will allow us to have no sill. It is a recessed track.
    They allowed us to do this in North Vancouver where the Building Code is a little more restrictive because of the rain. As long as you can get an engineer to approve the recessed track, I can't foresee any issue especially the warmer climate of Santa Barbara.

      Hi there,

      It's a 12' opening. The bifold window came from North Shore Windows. However, Eclipse windows can be purchased from various suppliers. You should contact your contractor and ask him who is window supplier is and see what they can do.

      The interior counter is caesarstone organic white. The exterior counter is a piece of cedar.

      Did you recess the track for the folding window and is it weather resistant? I'm putting a LaCantina in Santa Barbara but they warning me against a recessed flush track in the counter because of possible water intrusion.
