If there is need for privacy, then you could have Roman shades for the bottom windows. I wouldn't add anything else. The top windows seem to be right next to the crown molding so there wouldn't be any space for a rod if you wanted to add some panels or sheers.

nothing for the top. Hunter-Douglas Silhouettes for the bottom if you need privacy. Those windows are an architectural feature of the house. Don't cover them with foof! And just wait until the trees leaf out. How beautiful will that be?

Yes is crown molding ! But the sun is on our face every afternoon from one off the top windows this is our family room

we have a similar wall in our family room. I am planning on adding sheers all the way from the top, but just for cosmetic reasons. We added a solar film on the windows so that the UV does not destroy the furniture. I don't know if that helped in any way with the sun situation, but we don't seem to have a problem with it. In you case, it's a bit difficult to add something because of the crown molding.

They are so pretty! If it was my home, I wouldn't cover them up. Solar film might cut down on the sunshine in your face, although, I'm pretty jealous of that "problem" at the moment! :)

I would check the warranty on the windows, some will void if you add any type of solar film to them.

It is my experience that the window film companies that have been around awhile will typically add a 10 year warranty to the window. At the 10 year point have them remove it and add new again. It adds another 10 year warranty to the window. In the Pacific Northwest, where I'm from ABC Sun Control, INC in the Seattle area. Give them a call, they might be able to tell you who installs the same product in your area.

Some nice sheer fabric would look good. Make sure you go with a polyester fiber, it is UV natural inherit in the fiber.

If you decide on window film, look into Huper Optik Ceramic . We have this and so far, no problems. You cannot even tell that there is a film on the window.

Hunter Douglas Silhouettes. Someone in my family has beautiful high windows like this, and they have a remote control that they can operate the shades up high with. Most of the time they do not put the shades down, but at certain times of the year, the sun is just too much.

Well those are certainly impressive windows! But not so easy to live with though are they? I would do the film to protect your furniture and floors. You could do bottom up shades on the top bank of windows and have them motorized. When they are down they are very low profile.

Nothing over the actual windows inside. So great at night! I am putting shades on bottom and then maybe linen along the top all the way down for light airy feel
