please help with rug

I am looking to replace the 2 rugs in my room but it is 9 ft x 20 feet and Id like a single rug, so I 'd need to have carpet bound into a special size rug...need a suggestion for low $/square foot and color/ pattern so it flows with the adjacent room also pictured. thanks!

You may have a difficult time finding a remnant at 18' or so in length. Shaw carpet has a lot of nice options in loop or cut styles that will be durable, soft and affordable. Most carpet showrooms including box stores carry their products. I would probably go with a low pile or a loop style. If you'd like a wool or wool blend option, Godfrey Hirst has a few in the 20 something a square yard price range. Coordinate to the grey blues in the rug in the adjacent space for a nice transition.

I would go with wall to wall in this room since the underlying vinyl is not so attractive. I think any small pattern in a neutral tone would be fine. Home Depot has a decent selection.

I've had good luck with carpet remnants, even for a room this size. Go to a good carpet store and they probably have many remnants of good quality but rather low price. You can have it bound the color of the carpet or contrasting. As to color, I'd probably head for the grey of the couch to ground the white walls and couch.

I must say that I like the rugs that you have currently.

I'll add to my comment: we had no trouble finding 20 foot remnants to bind for our family room. Granted, there was sometimes less choice than if one were going for a smaller piece, but I was always able to find a good choice in one day by visiting a couple of places.

By the way , I have your area rug in my den and I love it! Not sure why you want it replaced except that it is 2 not one?

Use carpet tiles. They have some wonderful colors to select from.
