how about lowering the tv, and a long skinny unit beneath it with a few accessories on it, or a few pis around the tv?

What if you place an empty decorative frame around the tv?

Or you could place some silhouette style art across the wall...decals. It would fill the wall without being bulky or competing with the tv.

I agree it need lowered. If you can't lower, at least a floating shelf below to "ground" the tv.

How about a shallow floating shelf, maybe 6" deep? Something wide enough hide the outlets too? It could be about 3 inches above the top of outlets and that would help to fill in the space between the bottom of TV and floor. And a shelf like that would be a great spot to show off a few small items.

I love everyone's suggestions... now where can i find a skinny unit like the pic? I've been searching for floating shelves that won't sag.

IKEA has long 'skinny' units similar to the above suggestion.

A cabinet under the TV would look the best, but you don't have much room for it. You will be able to find a cabinet that is 15" deep and possibly 12" deep. Do you have room for that?
Would you consider replacing your beautiful coffee table for a smaller table? That would solve the problem.
I posted a photo of a console type table which would also look very good and is more likely to come in narrow widths.
