Long, narrow, boring back hall with an enclosed stair case. Help!

We have a back hallway with a staircase leading to office and walk-in attic, back door, garage door, 1b/1b, laundry room and a built-in desk and wet bar areas that needs help. we're thinking heavy moulding, and Wayne Scotting with a hall tree or church pew or table and chair, lamp and flowers. a Photo Wall in hall and on landing, a carpet runner... we have large tile on the floor and we will be changing the carpeted stairs/landing with Cherry hard wood next year. Ideas please!!!!
