Stone wall - is it real?

Hello! My fav part of this room is the stone wall. Would like to do the same as an accent wall for my contemporary kitchen. Did you go for the real thing? Did you use half sized stone? Do you have any regrets or any advice for this project?

Hi, The stone was an existing condition. The structure was built in 1750 as a barn, the great bones of this project allowed us making a spectacular one of a kind home. The stone is local to NJ and up to 30'' thick. The entire kitchen with the exception of the back wall is field stone. We did have to replace and repair parts of the home which were done with real stone collected from the property.
