My living space has some pretty nice sized windows, and we love the natual lighting that it allows in. The only one thing I don't like is the privacy aspect. With them open, everyone can see into the house.

I would like to add either some curtains (light and sheer), or maybe even some privacy/solar shades. Question I have, is it common place to place shades over blinds? I was thinking about the shades here:

if curtains, should I go from ceiling to floor, or inside the framing only?
