I was thinking of shiny brass pendants to hang from the ceiling. Something similar to the ones attached below. But, what would I use for a chandelier for the center of the room?

The panels on the window should be much higher. Hand them closer to ceiling height. This will give the illusion of the ceiling being higher. The end table lamps are too small for the night stands. The end table lamps should be more proportional to the end tables.

Agree that the lamps are too small for the nightstand. They should be higher but since the nightstands are a square the lamps should be square as well. You can have fun with the lamps but make sure to be proportional and consistent with the design of the room as well as the shade and base. Also, I don't know what you will use these lamps for (task lighting such as reading, accent lighting..). If you plan on reading you will want the lamps to be nice and tall but not to tall where you can see the light bulb while laying or sitting up.

If you have extra fabric you could raise the curtains a just few inches (also avoid hemming).

Try lowering the picture over the bed about 2 to 3 inches.

Look for yellow lamps for the nightstands. I don't think they need to be any particular shape--just tall enough so you can see to read in bed.

Mustard lamps would look nice, I agree. What type of chandy would I get? I also thought that if I could find a brown and white lamp base - but have not found any yet.

No the drapes would not look right if they are too short. The drapes right now could be higher but it's nothing to worry too much about. If you want you could add a band of material at the bottom, but they will be fine just the way they are.

I found this chandy that I love & would look terrific with the art that I bought, but it's over $2,000! If anyone can find one similar for a much better price I would be so happy.

Don't raise curtains if they're already down to the floor. The curtains need to touch or almost touch the floor.

You might pick another color from your art over the bed and go with lamps in a color like aqua, orange or green. The yellow in your chairs is very soft and muted. Don't get a lamp that will be too bold (like the one I posted above)

We agree with the commenters above, if there is some extra wiggle room to push those draperies up a bit without making them high-water, then by all means, do it. It's amazing how that can give the illusion of a much roomier space. You did a great job decorating. Nice work!

I'm going to raise the rod a bit, but still have the drapes touch the floor. So, maybe 2 " higher.

Loved the urchin chandy link that Mark posted and I think I'm going with the chandy and 2 pendant lights to hang over nighstands in gold.

You probably don't need a chandelier and two pendants. Choose chandelier and then two table lamps. Too much of a good thing is too much (pendants)

I'd raise the drapes to the ceiling and add a yellow band about 18" from the bottom. That is, if you sew or have a friend who'll do it for you. Wouldn't spend much $$ on the project.

The chandelier should stand out. Adding two other hanging lights will detract from the chandy. I can see that you like the pendants but, again, you're trying to over-do a good thing. It would be best to use the chandelier or the hanging pendants--not both.

Now I see the wall art. Sorry, yes, too much with the starburst chandelier. I'd return the wall art and go with the chandelier. What do others think?

You want your room to be interesting. Having pieces that are all basically alike isn't going to be interesting. Mix it up.

You've done such a good job with your chairs and painting. Don't lose your way.

Your curtains are perfect by just touching the floor, great work. The lamp is much too small for the space. As for the 2 small pots on the shelf, they could be removed as they do not fit in the space. You might want to cover a few old books with scrapbooking paper, choosing pattern marching your decor, and pile them on top of one another, 3 would be a great number.

No Pendants with chandelier. You need some interesting table lamps. Ideas.

Hope you do band the drapery and hang higher. You will be happier with a bottom band on the drapes if the band is one of the colors in the drapery - the dark or light color! This will keep the drapes looking classy and "on purpose." Your room in very nice!

I'm really stuck on finding lamps guys, anyone have any ideas? Husband is losing his patience with me.

The drapes are fine as they are. It might have been nice if they were a bit longer so you could raise the rod and mount them several inches higher but they'll look better going all the way to the floor than with the rod raised and then being too short. No need to call attention by adding a border on the bottom.
