Are you planning eventually to replace the existing white appliances with stainless (when they die a natural death)? If so, then it might be worth mixing the two in the interim if that won't bother you. Are your cabinets white? If so, that may help camouflage the older white appliances.

Yes, decide what it is about stainless that is calling your name and you might decide the white is just fine. Stainless accents in the room can easily tie in the range hood....not sure how tough or expensive they are to switch, either.

I have a mix in my personal home, but that is due to the daunting task of finding a slide in electric stove, I myself prefer to have all of the appliances match if possible.

I prefer a match in appliances unless the range is a high end range in a true custom kitchen (like below). Frankly I would like to see more custom kitchens where there is some focal point that gives the homeowners personality to the kitchen.

Having said that: I too think its better to have white appliances in a white kitchen like the one that JudyG points out above. If you notice, all of those white appliances are also higher end appliances in a custom kitchen. Stainless steel has just become ubiquitous...without regard to quality of the actual appliance IMO.

I have a Whirlpool White Ice refrigerator and love it, (bought it almost 2 years ago) my existing appliances are white but I knew that eventually I would be replacing all of my appliances (next week) in stainless. I think the white ice should blend in well, the SS are the gold series so I would think they will.

I am planning on painting my kitchen but I haven't decided what color yet, But I plan on painting my oak cabinets a white but am waiting for the granite to get installed (next week) the granite is crema delicatus, so I may go with a decorators white or white dove (Benjamin Moore colors). There's also a Chantilly lace someone mentioned in a post. I searched white kitchens to find the colors. Good luck! I too am indecisive!

By the way I find the White in the fridge to be on the cool side. So I would not go with any thing on the cream, ivory side or yellow undertones.

I think they can mix as long as the white appliances have accents of stainless steel on them
