We added the mantel and corbels to this fireplace. We debated where to put the corbels. I don't think they look right. Any suggestions for how to fix this?

Should they be off the marble to the sides on the wall, with the mantel shelf lengthened?

Should they be moved toward the center?

Should they be removed completely? Will the mantel shelf "floating" look okay?

Other options??

Ignore the color of the wall etc and note that the brass will be painted black.
