I think Cream colored cabinets would go nicely with your existing trim and flooring. I would go with a lighter granite that has elements that harmonizes with the cabinet, floor and trim colors. Darker counter tops might make the space feel smaller. Good Luck :)

The lighter countertop makes sense since it is a small area. The faucet & hardware will be bronze so I think it will look nice too.The new floors will be a medium dark I think. I appreciate your advice on the cabinets, I'm very nervous about doing something so different but your input helps! Thank you!

You may be replacing the wood cabinets but you can probably paint them and have a higher end result than if you replace with fiberboard. Look at sw wool skein - a great light neutral on cabinets . .. Agree to stick with light countertops / since your space is small, look at the creamy plain quartzes. . .

Lighter counter tops are definitely on the list now :) I wish I could use your idea of paint .. The cabinets are in bad shape, doors & drawers don't close properly. And since they are knotty pine I would need to fill in the knots. 36 yr old kitchen! Thank you for your advice!

I like the lighter colors with the warmer beige tones to work with your dark brown trim. I included a photo of a kitchen that shows a creamy cabinet mixed with the dark brown wood Island. The countertop in the photo looks like the caesarstone countertop photo that I also included. Caesarstone is a great way to get the beautiful marble look without the high risk of staining.

It sure makes the selection easier to go with a cream color cabinet. I have a few variations (along with the dk. Furniture) of different tones of wood in the house. I'm getting all positives to go with light cabinets & beige counter top.i love the samples you sent too. Might look into swans tone (beige) sink to go with bronze faucet & cabinet hardware.
