teresag77-How large is your leftover soapstone piece?

Actually I really like the current shape of your fireplace - it's simple but interesting, architectural and totally goes with everything in the room! Get rid off those glass blocks over the opening and replace the whole thing with the soapstone. Also, I'd flatten the hearth if possible - not a fan of the rounded shape here at all, besides you don't need it since the floor is tiled. And then get a proportional (larger) piece of art above.
