My builder uses Houzz Pro to plan the timeline and give detailed estimates and daily updates with photos of progress, and provide invoices at pre-agreed key points in the build. This made the whole experience much more efficient and stress-free.

    I have seen this done by cutting into the wall board above the stove and gluing the shelf to the 2x4 framing where it sticks out and then tiling around and up to it . Don't know if that's what they did here but I would imagine so.

    You can also find shelves with concealed mounting hardware that would give you the same look. I know IKEA has them, and I imagine other hardware suppliers might too. Of course, in this case, you don't want to use a wood / flammable-material shelf :)
