We are planning a bathroom remodel and are planning on using a 1930s style "J Tub". We have two options a salvaged tub ($75) + refinishing (~$400) or a new acrylic from Americh (~$1800)

The refinishing apparently has a 10-15 year life. The odds are that we won't actually be there that long but a) you never know and b) I hate doing things halfway. That said the cost diff is substantial

Any thoughts on the best way forward?
