I have a blank canvas, please help

Hi Everyone, I need some help please. I have a front room that I want to turn into a formal dinning room. I need help with choosing the right dining table. I have attached some photos showing you my room also my adjoining room. I really don't know my style . I do know I don't want modern. We went to mathis bro. last night did not see anything we liked. I would like to go dark. Also I would like a china cabinet, my sister is saying that they are not in style. The size of the room is 11.5x16.5

How about a large circular table, or square with rounded edges to bring out the curvature of the entryways. I would ditch the blinds. They look heavy and the rouching at top is passé. Nothing light sunshine to brighten up a room. Agree that traditional china cabinets are out. What about an antique banquette with new marble top for functionality? Add a light fixture on a dimmer or with shades for romantic lighting, and try to have at least three light sources.
