Kitchen problem

We are building a new house and it is almost time to purchase appliances. Neither of us is a fan of stainless steel, we much prefer white. The only appliance that we cant find in white is a dual fuel
slide-in range. Will my brand new kitchen look odd with just the one stainless steel appliance? Has anyone else out there dealt with this issue and how did you resolve it?
Thanks,
Debbie

    What color are your cabinets?

I would keep them all the same finish, so it doesn't look like an after thought.
I know that Jen-air, Electrolux, and Frigidaire all make a white dual fuel slide in range.

Also try looking for a separate cook top and oven. It gives a more custom look and lets you chose the options for your oven and cooktop separately.

Cabinets are going to be white and walls a very pale gray. Counters will be a charcoal color. The only place that I could put a wall oven was right underneath the cooktop and I was a bit concerned about the oven then being too low. I'll check out the Jen-air and Electrolux. GE was the one that I wanted.

Put in white and stainless appliances in the houzz photos. You will get a better idea of what you will be looking at.

I don't think it would look odd at all, as long as the appliances are all new. It wouldn't look so hot if you tried to match a beat up dishwasher in white with a brand new stove with all the bells and whistles, but that's not what you are going to do, so I personally think you are good. Also, I was reading on business week about stainless appliances and the future, and they were showing a white fridge with a stainless handle. Maybe an option to try to marry the two? I personally can't wait until stainless goes out of trend, Someday it will be like owning harvest gold, I hope!

One thing we did in our kitchen that I love is we had our electrician put all of our electrical plugs underneath our cabinets. It shouldn't cost any more $$ and really gives a nice clean look on the backsplash. Thought I'd mention that since everything you are doing is new.

Did you look at Jenn-Air 30" Slide-in Dual Fuel Range in white?

Or if you are going to have to change to color to something else, change it so that it is a kitchen focal point. Not an after thought. You can make it a focal point by selecting another color entirely that works with your kitchen - red or cobalt, even stainless steel. Let me see if I can find an inspiration photo for you.

I gave in to my husband and got a stainless refrigerator and regret it everyday. It will be the only stainless appliance we will have in our newly redone kitchen. We have to replace the appliance one at a time as budget allows. The second one after the refrigerator was a dishwasher. We went with the whirlpool in white ice, a very cool white with brushed silver handle. We hopefully will go with the matching microwave and gas range. Our cabinets our white with brushed silver hardware and very dark gray counters. Having one stainless appliance was a compromise, but I think it will look fine when complete. My husband now wishes that he'd listened to me because he hates all the smudges and fingerprints that are so hard to get rid of.

There is a trick to keeping stainless looking perfect (well pretty well perfect). Mulitpurpose Pledge or other spry furniture polish. Then be sure to wipe it well with a microfiber cloth after you apply. It makes cleaning it easier too.

Why furniture polish instead of something like MAGIC stainless steel cleaner? What is in the polish that makes this a better product for keeping the stainless clean? Just installed new stainless, so inquiring mind needs to know, please.

There are white appliances now that have stainless handles. Check those out!

You can even use a light very light film of cooking oil on stainless then wipe with the microfiber...I use Weiman Furniture Cream or Pledge. What it does is keeps stuff from sticking to the stainless and cuts the spit shine clean time to a fast wipe. I use it on all the kitchen and bathroom surfaces (stove cabinets counters fridge sink tub faucets) about once every week or two.
