I agree that the three pictures (not the Ethan Allen) choices are too rustic. You don't have to go traditional or french though, contemporary would work also. I like the mix of contemporary and traditional. It seems that you like glass top tables. There are many contemporary glass tables (not ultra modern, many with wood bases) that would look good. The couches are too far apart now for a coffee table in between, you would need to reconfigure (L shape or closer together). Search on Houzz for contemporary living rooms and you will see lots of options.
