Looking to buy new sectional.

Looking to buy new sectional for our basement. We can go as large as a 12' x 9' L shape. That would run it down the wall and in the middle of the room. Would that be a good layout for this room? We are wanting to watch movies as a family and entertain too. Also trying to decide on micro suede or leather?
