Please Help me choose a rug

Love these indoor outdoor rugs http://t.homedecorators.com/mt/www.homedecorators.com/newThumbPage.php?classification=3&typeDefId=4532&un_jtt_redirect

But can't decided which color should I pick. Just got this sofa from Macy's. It is a Kenton color is sage. This is the closest picture that I found online.

There are different colors on these rugs.

What do you think?

What color is your wall, and your floor under the rug and your furniture? The sofa is lovely but it's a somewhat washed out version of sage on a monitor; actually looks more like a greenish grey or a pale greenish blue (or bluish green). The first rug definitely has the wrong shade of green; the others are nice but, if it were mine, I think I'd choose the rug later when I have a better idea of what else I'm doing in the room

Wall is beige just like this photo. We have hardwood floors.

.-- So, would it be safe to say that your vision for this room is neutral - etc? Just helps us zero in on ideas that are going to help you get the look you want.

This table is wonderful. There is lots of style here in natural wood coupled with metal.

Thinking about the rug you have chosen, the sofa and this table, there is not much color or pattern included. Think about using black as an accent color - you do not need tons of color in a space but it is always a good idea to include some contrast somewhere - as in artwork [black & white photos in black frames], lamp bases/shades, throw pillows/throws, books/accessories, etc. You also want to think of ways to include some texture in the space. Something shiny, shaggy, or rough, etc.

Yay sofa and chair came in today...love it :)

It is a silver sage green... I'm now leaning towards coral blue sage pillows.... What do you guys think? I like geometric patters and I want to bring texture to this room... I'm still trying to decide on the rug... Love the third one but was thinking in a different color they have... The light blue one.

Hi! I love the furniture! I think I would maybe get pillows before the rug since you seem hesitant (and I usually mess up ad drop a bunch of money when I am hesitant lol). Here are a few throw pillows that may work for you:

    Hope these help!

-- Nothing like some new furniture to make your day! Next up should/could be a rug. Have you thought any more about that? Are you considering more color? What are your plans for the fireplace and floor?

Thinking about this for the fireplace surround and for the floor dark wood floors.

I love the second option. It adds depth versus keeping everything in the beige tone. If you frame some large art above the sofa in an espresso frame then that will tie in the darker color of the rug and it'll all work out nicely.

    Which one would go better?

-- Since your fireplace surround and furniture are in the medium tone, my choice for the rug would be the darkest one - #4 - to give you more contrast and drama. Remember to pull the darks into the artwork you hang as well as any other accessories you add. This will keep your space all tied together.

Thank you everyone for helping me out. I like the chocolate/cream too... How do you think the coffee table is going to work and does anybody have more ideas for pillows?

-- The cocktail table is good! Try it with everything you have so far. Before you work on pillows, you really should find the artwork. I am assuming that the circular image artwork above the sofa at the top of your thread was at the showroom so here are some tips on selecting artwork for your room.

Keeping in mind your upholstery, rug and fireplace, choose simple images with a tad of a color somewhere in the piece. A landscape orientation always works over a sofa. Look for a good contrast in the painting with darks and lights. Always more striking and interesting.

Hi desousacris - I am thinking of buying the same kenton sofa in sage. How do you like it? Anyone else have additional area rug suggestions?
I recommend this sofa. I got the sage...but it looks more like a seafoam green color.

The designs are very dull, you should go for brighter and livelier colours like this
