Love it too, is one of my favorite memories - thanks for asking about it!!!!

I painted it myself with plaster - has about 12 layers on it and a lot of muscle to burnish it.... the trim that separates the finishes is a flex moulding the carpenter installed for me; painted by the painters, just like the rest of the trim in the house, with two coats of paint, and three or so glaze drags. The interior of the walls match the ceiling treatment.

Note: I would hire a company before ever trying this again!!!! Was tough, but worth it for such a great family... however, it about put me under for weeks. Had to get this done before the furniture was being delivered, so worked for 18 hours straight, damaging my wrist!!!

I still try to leave my personal mark on homes I design, especially for my favorite clients!!! I started out as an artist painting, so often my projects get one-of's... You can mimic it! My advice is to show this pic to an artist or faux-finisher in your area. I am sure they can help you emulate this look!
