Need help for my new house (Esp. curtains and carpet)

Hi,
I'm newly moving to my house. All big furnitures are ready. I want to keep the contemporary style.
Also I've one floor arco lighting for dinner table and two steel floor lamps for TV set. But I have no idea for the ceiling lighting.
Also curtains are big problem for me. shall I use panel curtains or stick with classics?
What about the carpets? I'm allergic and I hate carpets :) but I really need one because the floor looks so empty.
I'd appreciate your comments.
Have a nice week.

The room culd use some more color, so a synthetic fabric curtain (such as taft) could help with that, without holding too much dust. What color dou you have (pillows and such) and what dining chairs?

Hi Sunny. I think a wall of curtain would look wonderful both day and night, and you could go for colour there. The rug below looks like a natural fibre, but it is synethetic and said to be hypoallergenic. And the art is for fun -- I'm posting it separately below because it's unfair to the artist, Kevin Richards, to leave it in that tiny state.

dear @rinqreation thanks for all the comments. they are useful. yes, indeed, i need to use rug because I'm living in an apartment. thanks for reminding. I loved the chevron stripe both because of the pattern and it is made of polypropylene. Also, they have shipment to Turkey!
I liked the grey/sand zigzag. What do you think? I do not know how you put a product onto a photo.
I do not have dining chairs. I still can not decide. Even, I have an discussion about that.

I plan buying some pillow. I will decide between black&white, pink&white, lime&white patterns, maybe with some cute owls.
but I'm open to ideas :)

@Rina you did it well putting the products onto my photo :) thank you, I loved the painting, the colors make the room energetic and young ;) I really love green and try to live green :)
It looks better that my imegination. the rug is perfect fo my condition and also can be shipped to Turkey. what do you think about the grey/white option?

Put the sofas facing each other.

    Coffee table in the middle.

The large cabinet with louvered doors on the back wall opposite the window.

Add two buffet lights and art over the cabinet.

    Floor lamp.

Cassie Taplin thanks for the original paintings. I've always appreciated art.
Could you please give me some ideas for rock decors?
The ocean zig zag rug would introduce some color that you could repeat in art.
You might use some clear acrylic dining chairs so they don't block the natural light from the windows.

Hi again Sunny. I also think the grey would be an excellent fit in that room. It has a lovely crisp, airy feeling to it.

Sunny - A flat weave carpet, or a "painted floor cloth" might be OK for your allergies. They trap less dirt, and some of them can be taken outside ans washed with a garden hose.

Over here IKEA has Tobias, a transparent chair. My friend has them and they're very comfortable (we sit hours on end at the dining table).

I checked the offshore shipment, even the rugs are in my bugdet, the shipment and taxe costs increase the prices.
So, I decided to purchase from local market.
Here's an idea, what do you think?
there is a virtual decoration option at this link. http://www.royalhali.com/tr/index.php?sayfa=dekorasyon

Hi Sunnyncloudy, have you checked Eko Halı? They have some really nice carpets that are said to be anti allergic, and they are thin too. Here's the one I bought because my husband has the same problem. I'm very happy with the quality of it.

For curtains; how about something like this? I think it would be lovely in your room.
Hey Susan, thanks for the suggestion. I did not know this brand, they can also make custom designed carpets. I'll visit them in a short time. The curtain looks like Persan, right? We also thought about navy curtain, but I'm little bit concern if there will be a blue light when I close the curtains during sunshine is coming from behind. do you have any experience about that?
The curtain is Persan, yes. Personally, I don't think there will be any blue light when they are closed because they also have layering behind them...(all my curtains have them). When I close them at daytime it is just dark, no colouring. Just call them and ask, it probably depends on the fabric and if it has or hasn't any layerings.

That's a beautiful curtain, Susan -- but I still think, Sunny, that you could use the curtains as an opportunity to bring light and brightness into the room -- nothing extreme -- eg something like the green ones I posted above. (Sorry, don't want to over-thump my drum.) It's the difference between coming in to a room and thinking "how tasteful" and thinking "how joyful". Tasteful is great, and it is already there in the existing furniture, but I vote for a light injection of extra energy.

Hi again. I decided to go with grey draperies and a grey rug. I know Rina I need more color but I could not find fabrics here in Turkey like you suggested. I'll try to look more.
Incase, to have some color I'll use throw pillows.

Would you give me some advise from the colors on that site? If I go all with white&lemon green, black&White, and white&red, would it be fine or messy :)

I like the contrast of a deep, bold coloured rug to go with your blue lounge. Maybe stripes?

Hi Sunny. I can't get the pics to copy, but I wouldn't go for any of those 'sets' -- either by colour or by design. I think it would be good to pick one cushion with a strong colour and clean pattern -- if you click on this page, http://www.beauty-crafts.com/#!yastik/c1yp, in the first column about four down there is a coral and white cushion, and just below that a green leaf one. One or the other of those could work. Then, for instance, if you use the coral and white, you could combine it with a plain coral, white, and perhaps a small blue and white check or stripe using the colour of the sofa. Depending on the art you pick you could include another colour -- plain or small print, e.g. a pastel yellow or mid-green.

To make the most of your space and define it, you may want to consider this modular wall system. The cabinetry can be ordered to match the decor of the adjoining rooms. You can add drawers, shelves and even a screen with the wiring hidden. It can be adapted as your needs change. Here are a few photos:

You have such a nice bright space to work with! I would consider a light colored area rug which would coordinate with wall color to start with and then build from there. I love the acrylic dining chairs. You will need floor lamps, my suggestion is gold and continue with gold accents to warm the space. See images.

acrylic dining chairs are good but not comfortable. you can find leather chairs in ikea.i have bought in ikea for 6 months. also you can buy an animal printed white and black rug. also i have a question do you live in turkey? i will suggest you a rug company name:)
